• Gather and organize the tax records
• Check income statements
• You get an automatic six-month extension for your 2006 return if you file Form 4868 by April 17, 2007
Remember :
- An extension of time to file does not give you an extension of time to pay your taxes.
- You must pay interest on any 2006 tax not paid by April 17, 2007
- You do not get an automatic extension for filing and paying your tax merely because you are out of the country on the filing due date.
